2. Reminder: New Booking.com terms (hotel action required)
New Booking.com terms go into effect on May 1, 2017.  The new programme includes two commission levels for hotels (14% for Preferred and 13.5% for non-Preferred).  Hotels are required to opt- in and must submit their opt-in form by April 18, 2017.  If your hotel is currently in the Preferred program, you will be opted back in with your preferred status unless you decide to opt out. 

Action:  It is important to review all supporting details and submit your hotel's opt-in form to BookingOptIn@ihg.com by April 18, 2017.

3. 2017 Holiday Inn C.A.S.H. Menu Portal
The 2017 Holiday Inn C.A.S.H. and Start Fresh Food and Beverage menu ordering window is scheduled to be open from June 15 - Aug 1, 2017. (2016 menu portal currently closed so that hotels do not accidentally order out-dated menus).

Watch for messages to include updates and your link to the menu ordering website. Now is a good time to look at your pricing strategy, as well as what optional menu items you may want to offer.

5. Update HCM to Reflect Correct Room Accessibility
During the booking process, it's important to make sure room type codes, room descriptions and accessibility indicators are accurate in HCM and depict the correct accessible information to guests. To ensure hotels reflect the latest information, updated system functionality now automatically ties the room type to the accessibility indicator field for newly added inventory.  In a few instances, your hotel will need to select new room type codes for HCM that match their current room descriptions.

Hotel Action: Review FAQs and select new room types

Find list of room codes in Merlin by searching for "Room Types By Brand 2017." Based on your location, refer to tab "Accessible (USA Only)" or "Accessible (Outside USA)."

10. Guest Bathrooms - Facial Tissue
When the Candlewood Suites manual was refreshed in November 2016, we published a brand standard noting that facial tissues in guest bathrooms must be provided in a dispenser. This is not correct, and a dispenser is not required for facial tissues in guest bathrooms. The Online Brand Standards Manual will update on 15 June 2017 with this correction.

13. Info: PERFORMSM Downtime on 9 April

On Sunday, 9 April, PERFORMSM and PERFORMSM with Price Optimization will undergo maintenance preventing access to the system beginning at 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm EDT. However, rate updates can still be made through the Holidex® Plus system. Please plan to make any revenue management updates in PERFORMSM prior to the system downtime beginning at 7:00 pm.
